Chinatown Bangkok – A Melting Pot Of Culture And History
This is another one of the best places to book a hotel in Bangkok. For a step back in time and a quick glimpse of part of Bangkok’s past, you should stay in Chinatown. As one of the oldest areas in Bangkok, and one of the first places inhabited by the Chinese traders, Chinatown is a melting pot of culture and history.
Walk along its narrow alleys and streets. Enjoy the bustling activity of traders along Sampang Lane if you’re looking for bargains. Or sample the authentic street food along Yaowarat Road. This is a busy and crowded part of Bangkok and thoroughly enjoyable for those who like this type of setting. The area is a popular attraction for budget travelers for its lower cost accommodation options and its access to the Bangkok transportation system.

Bangkok is such a big city – bigger than the country where I live (Singapore) and has 6 times the population of the country where I’m from (Estonia) 🙂 So getting around, choosing places to stay, what to see and where to eat can be very overwhelming. I have always wonder just where do Singaporeans stay in Bangkok and love how detailed it is. Thanks for sharing this guide, I think a lot of people will find it useful!
